Glowing Complexion Lifestyle Tips

The following tips and best practices can keep your skin glowing and looking young, strong and healthy, and resisting disease and infection.

1. Drink Water

Did you know one of the simplest sources for a glowing complexion and healthy skin is virtually free? By simply drinking water throughout the day, you help remove toxins and poisons from your body. You need roughly 1 gallon of water every day to enter your body through the food you eat and beverages you drink.

 2. Change Your Salt

You should probably trade in your table salt for Himalayan sea salt. Too much traditional salt leads to water being pulled out of your cells, which promotes wrinkles and other skin conditions. Sea salt is high in potassium and Himalayan pink salt has more than two dozen health-boosting vitamins and minerals your body and skin crave.

3. Get Enough Sleep

Did you know we still don’t understand exactly why we need to sleep, and what happens while we are sleeping? What we do know is that people who miss out on healthy sleep regularly begin to develop a myriad of skin and other health conditions.

4. Go bananas… seriously

You can use a banana as an all-natural, homemade face mask that moisturizes your skin and leaves it looking and feeling softer. Mash up a half a ripe banana into a smooth paste, then rub into to your face and neck. Leave on for 20 minutes, then rinse it off with cold water,

 5. Eat Your Greens

We talked about the importance of potassium in Himalayan pink salt for skin health. Dark green leafy vegetables, white beans, nonfat yogurt, acorn squash, salmon (here is that wonderful superfood again), avocados, bananas and white mushrooms are also extremely high in skin-friendly potassium.

 6. Wash Your Face Properly

Take the time to wash your face and skin properly. Don’t just jump in and out of the shower. When washing your face, don’t rush the issue. Take the time to treat your skin as if you love it because aside from being the largest organ of the human body, it is the first line of defence of your immune system, as well as your most visual representation of your overall health and well-being.
